Catching Up Saturday

As previously noted, we made it back from Florida little worse for wear.

The trip was to take care of some family issues that I’d rather not go into here. Suffice it to say that the trip it was more of a mission than a vacation.  Mission accomplished, mostly.

The flight back went smoother than most of our trips. There was a little turbulence into Seattle that shook the plane. It was a lot worse on take off, the plane really bounced around during the climb out to cruising altitude – and some poor kid riding across the aisle from us was air sick as a result.  She managed to blow chunks all over herself, her seat mates, the flight attendants, and parts of the plane that I’m sure will be very difficult to clean. Poor kid.

Other than that it was pretty uneventful – which, as I’ve mentioned, is unusual for us.

The truck was buried under a foot of snow in the Ted Stevens International Airport long term parking lot, but it started right up despite a week in the subzero cold and the roads were good on the way home in Friday evening rush hour traffic.  The driveway was two feet deep in packed snow and so I spent the first hour home plowing it out.

The animals appeared happy to see us again (a friend was watching the house and feeding the cats and the dog while we were gone).

Spent the rest of evening relaxing with a beer in front of the TV and went to bed early.

This morning I’ve got a ton of things to take care of, so here’s some Michelle Shocked and Anchorage:

Tip of the hat to Mark Ensley who reminded me of Anchorage last night on Facebook. Thanks, Mark.
