Men, Don’t Let This Happen To You

image

More Maxwell the Demon here

And that’s about all you’re going to get today.

I feel like crap.

I have a cold. I’m tired and achy and feel like my head is full of sand.

I’m going to sit here and drink hot green tea and review my notes for the next several chapters of my novel. I may nap.

If I work up sufficient motivation, I’ll play with AVG. I removed Norton Internet Security from one of my machines and installed AVG. If I like it, which so far I do, I’ll install it on all of my machines. Subscriptions are up and frankly I’ve come to purely loath Symantec – I want it off my network and out of my house. Sooner would be better.

Enjoy your Friday, Internet people.

  4. See, this is why I don't use Windows on my home machine...you should look into using Ubuntu, unless you have Windows-specific programs that you run on a regular basis that cannot be run through Wine (a Windows emulator). Most of your games can be run on Linux now, too, through the use of Wine or Cedega.

Awesome comic, by the way. I'm interested in this product and/or service.

Take Shawn's advice and have a nice hot cup of tea, and maybe a hot bath.

  5. Thanks for posting this Jim. I was able to waste the last hour of my day at work reading this comic. It is awesome.

  7. I get those two switched around all the time.

I too am sick. Must be a virus going around systematically targeting the men of the UCF. What has Nathan unleashed upon us?

  8. If you don't like AVG, check out Avast. We've been using avast for many years now, and I love it.

Also, feel better soon. Maybe if you're lucky Stupid will come curl up on you and purr.

  9. As long as he doesn't also leak, that is.

Hmm, this is Nathan's fault? Is anyone presently afflicted feeling pain in their pancreases?

  10. Dude,

First of all, I'm cured dammit. And it's not like it was contagious in the first place.

    Sheesh!

  11. I dunno, Nathan, I'm not pointing fingers or anything - but everybody on the internet was fine, until you got all sickly. Suddenly everybody feels like crap.

Did you wash your hands? Before touching the computer? After leaving the hospital? Because I've heard that hospitals are full sick people.

  12. It won't happen to you, because you're too old...err...experienced...to make such a mistake.

    Happy Birthday!

  13. Whaaa?

    He has birthdays?!?!

I heard he sprang fully formed from the brow of Zeus, or somebody...

Whatever - have a great birthday, Jim!

  14. Ah-ha! So all this I feel like crap so I won't be around here is just a smokescreen for not staying around for the surprise birthday party that ShopKat is getting for you -- and you'll NEVER guess what the present is.

  15. Karl: you're almost right. Athena sprang fully-formed from the brow of Zeus. Jim sprang fully-formed from... a different part of Zeus.

But we still celebrate the day. Bad things happen to the goats if we don't.

  16. Happy birthday. Don't do anything I wouldn't do...

  17. Happy Birthday!

Hope you're feeling better in time to enjoy cake and ice cream.

  18. Happy the day after your birthday. Cake is good for today as well. And chocolate.

    Especially if you share.
