You Better Change Your Evil Ways, Baby.

For some reason, Carlos has been in my head all day.

There are worse things in life, trust me.

Now, it's in your head too.

Update: Apparently I must now listen to my entire Santana collection. In case you were wondering that's about 26 albums, 196 tracks give or take.

  2. Considering that my head is taken up by "United Breaks Guitars" - which I fully blame on Neurondoc ... >.> Yeah, let's see if I can trade that out to yours. ;)

  3. One of the first songs I ever learned on guitar. I'm a big Santana fan.

  4. Music trivia you may already know: "Black Magic Woman" was written by Peter Green of the original (blues-based) Fleetwood Mac and they released it in 1968. In 1970 Santana covered it and it became his -- Fleetwood Mac stopped playing it.

That's the story, according to Mick, anyway.

  5. Met Mick & Stevie Nicks & the rest of the Fleetwood Mac crew in 1976 when they played a show in NC at an indoor ice rink. The college major attractions committee paid all of $1500 for them to come play. Very laid back, very cool.

Still have the poster someplace too. The whole group was so laid back, it was before they hit the big time. They did a lot of their own set-up, only had a couple real roadies that traveled with them. No real "group" demands either, just cold Heineken, sandwich fixings and fruit. They were thrilled to have top billing for even just a little college show.

    Simpler times. Sigh.

Not mine. I know the secret to eradicating mental music loops.

  7. Thanks Jim, there is nothing I would rather do than have hum Santana tunes all afternoon.

    Seriously, there isn't.

  8. Carlos is a permanent resident on my "Top 5 Guitarists of All Time" list. These are the guitarists that can, with one riff, rip my beating heart out of my chest and make me love it. :)

Smooth has about twelve of those riffs. Yeah.

    Thanks Jim.
