Glad it worked out so well for you. <BR/><BR/>Every year my parents (more usually just my dad and one or more of us kids) would go out on Black Friday and get a 15-16 foot tall live tree. Then it would sit outside, lashed upright to the deck for a week or so, with the base in a bucket of water. When we did bring it in, we would have to usually chip or cut the bucket off the bottom of the tree and then make sure my mom wasn't around or make her leave the room because she'd freak out while we were getting it in place, worried that it would fall over in the living room. <BR/><BR/>We have a 8 ft tall fake tree currently, a remnant of apartment life. Growing up we always, always, always had a real tree. There's no way I could fit something that big in my house. Our little cape cod barely fits all the humans. Heck, we're planning to get the kids cats, and I'm not sure where we're going to put them. <BR/><BR/>We plan to get a small live tree to go in the living room. I love the smell, and I deal with any guilt by recycling the tree after the holidays. The only real downside is my husband won't let me get the tree until next week. He worries about fire. <BR/><BR/>As for Fred Meyer, they don't have them here in Norfolk, but they do have them near my Mom's house in Washington state. My sister worked for a year in one of their warehouses. She loved that job, and she thought all the people she worked with were great. Plus there's a gas fireplace in there and furnace vents. It gets a little cool when it's closed off and the fireplace is turned off - but with the fireplace on it's very comfortable.
